Punk in Prenzlauerberg looks at how a thriving cultural scene was possible in the DDR in the face of arrests, exile and brutality from the state. We’ll look at how the DDR clamped down on ‘decadent’ counter-cultural movements over the decades and also the legacy of the Ostpunk scene in the years since the fall of the wall.
Our tour will be meeting in front of restaurant “Der Blaue Fuchs”, Knaackstraße 43, 10435 Berlin. We will meet at 13:00 and leave by 13:15.
The tour will end around 2.15 hours later. Public transportation will not be used. As the tour will be entirely outside, about halfway through, we’ll take a short break to warm up and have some coffee or tea in a café.
