This performance is a joy – a glorious spectacle that manages to be both intimate and hilarious. Chances are you’ve never seen anything quite like it it.

Australian contemporary circus company Gravity and Other Myths are a dance and circus troupe who show their working: in other words, you will hear every grunt of exertion as one performer balances another three on top of them; you will see when the performers get shaky and need a break; and, through a clever use of on-stage screens and cameras, you will even follow parts of what happens backstage throughout the show.

This performance is a joy – a glorious spectacle that manages to be both intimate and hilarious.

There is a disarming beauty in such honesty, making you feel like you know the performers personally. They don’t even pretend to be gods, but they really do seem divine, with flawless and fluid movements that barely stop for over two hours of acrobatics and dance. Couple that with kinky costumes and musical interludes, and you have an impressively seamless night of remarkable entertainment.

Go while you can — and then catch their other shows, also in Chamäleon, later this year. ★★★★★
