It’s nearly impossible to ignore. As you may heard, there’s an election looming in the U.S. of A. An election – like every U.S. election – of global significance.  And while Exberliner never endorses any particular political party, we’re all for political involvement of any kind.

So, in coordination with groups around the planet, this Saturday, May 5 at Amerika Haus in Charlottenburg the Democrats Abroad Berlin chapter is holding a “Global Primary” event, in which you can, basically, help re-nominate Barack Obama as the Democrats presidential candidate in the November elections. And, by the way, if you’re unhappy with the president, you have the option of voting “uncommitted”.

To vote in the Global Primary, you must fulfil a few simple requirements. You must be a U.S. Citizen registered in Germany. Don’t forget to bring your passport with you, unless you already signed up with the Democrats Abroad, in which case you’re already on top of the game. Kudos for that!

The event is also a chance to register for the general election – and hobnob with fellow Democratic expats. The party with discussion, food and live music should go late.
