Wellen.Brecher’s Liebeserklärung: A techno love letter that delivers

Ditching trance trends, Wellen.Brecher's debut album brings analog techno with EBM, electro & classic motifs. ★★★★

The Berlin-based inclusive band project Wellen.Brecher aims to put disabled people at the forefront of the techno scene. Kicking off the year with a banger, their debut album (thankfully) steers clear of all the trance trends that many modern producers are embracing. Instead, it builds its sound on analogue textures, classic techno motifs, EBM and early electro and doesn’t shy away from melodies or throwing in a wobbly bassline here and there.

Liebeserklärung is a sonic love letter to all the elements that made techno so great in the first place. Influences like Laurent Garnier’s aesthetic or Suicide’s throbbing rhythms weave through its pulsating grooves. Wellen.Brecher are channelling the spirit of the Love Parade all over again – bringing peace, love and inclusion back to the streets of Berlin. ★★★★
