The Danish DJ and producer returns with her second album, an audio-visual project brimming with collaborations and house beats. Centred around her studio drum machines and synths, intimate yell’s true essence lies with the vocalists. French singer Klō breathes life into the minimalist track My Dazed Friend, while the German Lyanne wails like Björk on Let there be LOVE!.

The record even features touching poetry and lyrical contributions from art critic Geoffrey Mak, author Lucia Odoom, and contemporary artist Sofia Defino Leiby. Many of these collaborators are part of an inclusive video collage accompanying the album.

The cumulative sound is evocative of the classic 80s Chicago sound, with vocalists adding a much-needed human touch to today’s dance music. Ultimately, Courtesy reminds us that collaboration fuels creativity, and that classic house music never goes out of style. ★★★★
