Where in Berlin should you go for a plate of refreshing, chewy, delicious noodles? From Japanese soba to Taiwenese Ma Jiang Mian, these are our favourites.

From Japanese zaru soba to Korea’s naengmyeon, cold noodles make for a refreshing meal on a warm summer day. Here are our favourite spots.

KONG

ZINGY Now under new ownership as of summer 2025, KONG is dialing its quality up to the max. Crisp cucumber and crunchy peanuts bring texture to the silky-smooth Kaltnudeln, while the cool, delicate broth balances the Sichuan spice throughout the dish. Pair it with a side of Sichuan-style uber-thin potato slices for the full experience.

Ogam

TANGY Ogam is home to one of Berlin’s best takes on naengmyeon, consisting of an icy broth made of beef stock and radish kimchi, complete with chewy buckwheat noodles, finely sliced cucumber, dongchimi and boiled egg. You can also opt for the lightly spiced bibim version, which you can amp up with extra gochujang from the condiments bar.

CHEWY Visit for chewy, cold bukkake Japanese udon served in a mild broth enriched with shrimp tempura, fried mochi, grated radish and ginger — with vegan options available. For something richer, try the signature cold Niku Udon with flambeed beef, egg and butter. Or keep it simple with the classic version: just udon and cold sauce.

Shaniu’s House of Noodles

NUTTY One thing’s certain: Shaniu’s knows its noodles, and their standout is the signature cool rice noodles, Ma Jiang Mian, a popular Shanghainese and Taiwanese street food. Topped with minced pork, crispy cucumber and carrot and coated in a rich sesame-peanut chilli sauce, it perfectly balances tepid temperature and spicy flavours.

PUM

BROTHY This spot specialises in Korean buckwheat noodles served cold. Try the mul-naengmyeon, made of a tart mustard, vinegar and chicken-based broth that’s garnished with chicken, cucumber, omelette and scallions. For a milder but equally refreshing take, go for the North Korean–style Pyongyang noodles, which bring together beef, radish kimchi, apple, cucumber, scallions and sesame seeds.
