If you’re a Berliner on the hunt for all things plant-based amid a sea of Wiener Schnitzel and Wurst, this is the ideal resource for you. Berlin is chock-full of great vegan food, but it can be hard to track down a comprehensive list of recommendations. Enter food and travel blogger Natalie Avila.

The California-born writer loves to try out vegan fare across town, and she’s compiled that research into its own Google Map for anyone to access. The grub guide lists over 100 locations broken into three sections: Fully Vegan, Vegan & Vegetarian, and Great Vegan Options for places that serve some non-vegan too. There are spots for vegan brunch, lunch, tapas, dessert, baked goods, gluten-free, traditional German – almost every kind of cuisine is featured.
Avila, who has been running her blog, Natalie Etc, since April 2020, focuses on including a diverse mix of eateries that cater – literally – to anyone’s budget. “It’s important to me to include places many Berliners can access, no matter their income, preferences or dietary restrictions,” she says.
For reviews on each hotspot – and mouth-watering plate pics – you can check out the regularly-updated masterpost that goes with the map, plus a host of travel guides and other Berlin tips, on the website. So whether you’re just doing a one-off Veganuary or you’re a veggies-all-the-way veteran, this culinary map gets five (Michelin) stars from us.
