While the trend of authentic Mexican street food has been gaining traction here in Berlin, Mama Rosas stands out. Pull up a seat at their sunny, yellow-tiled counter where you can watch your tacos being assembled (it doesn’t get any fresher), while a pumping playlist and generally upbeat vibe make that spicy margarita you’re sipping on taste even sweeter. Don’t let the über trendy decor (think classy beach resort) fool you – the focus here is firmly on the food.
You won’t find anything fusion on the menu. Instead, expect just a handful of starters, classic quesadillas, tacos and bowls. The quesadillas are a real highlight. For something simple, we’d recommend the Clásica – it’s the perfect combination of gooey cheese and tart pico de gallo. Not to mention the taco trio with pulled chicken and smoky chili-chipotle sauce. To kick things up a notch, be sure to order a frozen margarita (there’s no better way to combat the kick of the chili).
