“If we start our day at Benedict for brunch, we know it’s going to be a good day. The egg dishes and fluffy pile of pancakes make for a great treat. Speaking of treats, Sinless Cakes Cafe is one of our top picks for dessert. The cakes are gluten and sugar free, but still manage to look lovely and taste very nice.
Of course, we’re fans of casual bites too. Falafel Humbaba in Moabit serves delicious, budget-friendly street food. Their falafel makali, packed with crispy vegetables and sauces, is hands down our favourite. Big on flavour, easy on the wallet, what more can you really ask for?
Chicken Buzz at Rosenthaler Platz also has some seriously cool vibes. Don’t let the name fool you; while they’re known for chicken, their vegetarian buldak with tofu is an absolute must try! They offer three levels of spice, and we’re hooked on the hottest one. If you love bold flavours and a good kick, this one’s for you. If we’re craving pizza or pasta, Pizzeria Marienkäfer in Mitte is our go-to. The creamy pizza al funghi is the best.

Just down the street is Five Rivers Restaurant, an excellent place for Vietnamese and Japanese fusion. We like to start with veggie tempura, then order either pho xao or classic red curry. For either one, select the fried veggie-filet as the protein; it’s delicious.
Delabuu makes rolled ice cream created fresh before your eyes with ingredients of your choosing – watching them make it live is part of the fun! Our preferred combination is fresh strawberry, banana and strawberry sauce.
Markthalle Neun in Kreuzberg is a must, especially on Street Food Thursday when Samurai Spoon is there serving vegetarian okonomiyaki, a comforting, savoury Japanese pancake with cabbage and spring onions. We order it every visit.
Unsurprisingly, we often end up snacking at our own restaurant, Khaugalli. One of our go-tos is the vada pav, a Mumbai potato fritter tucked into a fluffy bun. We also regularly munch on our street-style chaats like tamarind pani puri and flavourful chutney-drenched dahi puri.”
About Khaugalli‘s founders

After relocating to Berlin and missing the taste of home, sister-duo Manjula and Anjali Dube turned nostalgia into action and opened Khaugalli, bringing the soul of Mumbai street food to the Arminiusmarkthalle in Moabit. Here you’ll find spice-filled snacks like classic potato-and-pea-stuffed samosas and ragda pattice, consisting of potato patties topped with curry, chutneys and crunchy chickpea noodles.
