This year’s XPOSED will be its 18th edition, showcasing a dozen feature-length films and eight short film programmes, all celebrating queer film “in all its forms, glory, shame, distaste, trash and beauty”, as the festival says on its Instagram. What’s striking about the 2024 lineup is the geographical ground it covers in terms of the directors and their films’ settings – you can look forward to work from Guyana, Brazil, Uzbekistan, Thailand, India, Czech Republic and Greece. This year’s recurring themes are grief and loss, screened within the context of queer perspectives. Expect unlikely storytelling and to have your vision broadened.
