Who stole this €6,000 pink glass unicorn?
On June 11, a high-quality sculpture was stolen from a store on the upscale shopping street of Kurfürstendamm in Berlin. Police have now issued a call for help, asking Berliners if they have seen the gaudy item.

The sculpture, about 27cm tall, depicts the head of a unicorn. It is made from pink glass and has a horn painted gold. This pink horse-like head is a limited edition item, number 27 of 125 such sculptures made by the French glassmakers Daum, who’ve been knocking out crystal knickknacks of this sort for almost 140 years. While the Daum website lists the item for €4,600, others in the series have apparently sold online for as much as €6,200.
The unicorn was stolen from the Bregner boutique store on Kurfürstendamm, where customers can also purchase handbags made from crocodile leather, statuettes of tigers made from amber, and “hightech, nanopeptid” anti-aging skin care products. The Berlin police shared their call for information on the social media platform X, asking if anyone had been offered the product either for sale or exchange in the two weeks since the theft.
