Wedding bakery owner murdered

The murder motive remains a mystery as there was supposedly nothing out of the ordinary with the bakery or its owner.

Yesterday at around 01:15, emergency services received a call regarding a dead man found in the Simit 24 bakery on Wedding’s Gerichtstraße.

As reported by B.Z., 61-year old Halil A., of Turkish origin, last messaged his family at around 20:30 the previous night from the shop where he was presumably preparing dough at the time. When he later stopped answering his phone and didn’t come home at night, his son went to check in on him and found his father lying on the floor with multiple stab wounds in his body.

Emergency services handed over the investigation to the homicide squad. Although results of the autopsy are still pending, initial findings indicate foul play was at hand. There are unfortunately still no signs pointing to the perpetrator; Halil A. was known and appreciated among the local community, who found nothing out of the ordinary about his business. Police are searching for clues and asking for any and all information related to the crime.
