Volksbühne director René Pollesch passes away suddenly
The artistic director of the Volksbühne, René Pollesch, has died unexpectedly at the age of 61.
A spokesperson from the theatre made the announcement on Monday evening. The theatre has not yet announced any details around his death. Pollesch took over management of the Volksbühne in 2021. Before that, he had directed and authored works performed at the theatre, as well as managed the small Prater venue at the Volksbühne from 2001 to 2007.
