Unknown man fires gun into the air, flees towards Kotti
On Wednesday night, chaos ensued when an unidentified man fired shots into the air, as reported by rbb. According to police, the incident happened around 10:40pm between Adalbertstraße and Köpenicker Straße when the man got off the 165 bus. According to initial reports, the suspect exited the bus among a group of students.
He then fired at least one shot into the air, sparking panic as several bystanders ran away. A 17-year-old girl fell and injured her leg, but no other injuries were reported. Rescue workers quickly arrived to aid the students, who were visiting Berlin on a school trip.
Police are still searching for the suspect, who fled towards Kottbusser Tor. According to statements taken at the scene, the man is said to have been using the weapon during the bus ride prior to disembarking.
