Entry denied: Unidentified man drives car into Sisyphos gate

The dramatic incident took place in the early hours of Saturday morning. According to police, the suspect reached the front of the queue of the popular club Sisyphos on Lichtenberg’s Hauptstrasse at around 5:30. The two bouncers on shift, aged 26 and 41, turned him away, which he apparently acknowledged politely before leaving.

Shortly afterwards, however, the man returned in a rented Audi, which he deliberately drove into the entrance of the club, twice. When the two bouncers jumped back to the sidewalk to avoid the vehicle, the suspect attempted to drive towards each of the men. Luckily, both of the bouncers were left unharmed.

The chaos didn’t end there. The suspect then drove the Audi into the wall of the club before reversing and ramming the car into the Sisyphos’  gate with the iconic kissing ducks design. After the collision, he sped off in the direction of Ostkreuz. Fortunately no one was injured, but the extent of the damage to the club exterior is still unclear.

Police continue to search the area for the suspect, who is being investigated for attempted grievous bodily harm.
