Unknown perpetrators shot at a Berlin driving school in Spandau during the early hours of Thursday morning. They targeted the school on Nonnendammallee in the Siemensstadt district, with emergency services becoming aware of damage to a shop window at around 2:45 a.m.
While police reportedly found four bullet holes in the glass, no one was injured. Forensic investigators collected evidence until the early hours, including bullet casings on the sidewalk. At a pub 100 metres away, additional police officers were deployed, although it is unclear whether the two incidents are connected.
It is not the first time a driving school has been attacked. In October, shooters targeted a shop in Reinickendorf. The same place was shot at on Tuesday. In both instances, the shop window was damaged, but no one was hurt. The Berlin State Criminal Police Office initiated further investigation, though no background information has been given so far.
After Tuesday’s incident, District Mayor Emine Demirbüken-Wegner of the CDU condemned the crime, standing by local businesses and claiming that violence, threat and intimidation have no place in Reinickendorf. Information about Thursday’s incident is ongoing.
