Forensic police have been searching Volkspark Prenzlauer Berg after two people found a severed human leg in the bushes while walking their dogs.

Severed human leg discovered in Volkspark Prenzlauer Berg

Two women made a gruesome discovery while walking their dogs early on Tuesday morning in Volkspark Prenzlauer Berg.

Police have confirmed that a severed human leg was found in the park, as reported by Berliner Zeitung. Shortly before 9am, the women’s dogs uncovered an object in the bushes, leading to the discovery of a body part. The women immediately contacted emergency services.

Forensic police conducted a thorough search of the park and surrounding areas, looking for evidence and potentially other body parts. However, no other clues were found. A murder commission from the State Criminal Police Office has taken over the case. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the human tissue will be examined for forensic evidence to help determine the identity of the person.
