Rescue helicopter deployed to wild boar attack in Friedrichshagen

A woman sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Tuesday morning after being attacked by a pack of wild boars in the Berlin district of Friedrichshagen. The woman, who was homeless, was not the only person injured, but the others were not as seriously hurt. She underwent emergency surgery, which was successful, and her life is no longer in danger.

Police were first notified at 01:41 of a person who had been seriously injured. Initially, they believed the injuries were the result of an assault by another person. On receiving further reports of additional injuries, they responded with a significant police presence. It was later revealed that the attackers were not human, but a group of aggressive animals. A spokesperson from the fire department commented: “It was obviously an attack by wild boars on a group of homeless people.”

Attacks by wild boar are rare, but the risk increases during mating season, which lasts from February to May. If you encounter an aggressive animal, experts advise moving slowly, keeping your distance, and avoiding any actions that might agitate it.
