It’s been a journey. In August 2024, Renate publicly declared that the lease for their location on Markgrafendamm would expire at the end of 2025. Their last big blowout party was set to be New Year’s Eve just gone. Then, in a Christmas miracle on December 16, they announced that a long-term extension of the lease meant they didn’t have to close at all.
Still, the announcement left questions. When would the club reopen? What next steps were planned? They promised that “as soon as it is foreseeable when we will reopen, we will communicate this publicly.”
Well, now they have…
Renate will host their soft reopening parties on Friday, January 30 (featuring Amy Dabbs, DJ CHICHI, Hanna Baertig, Multifun, OLIV, Salty DJ and SAM) and Saturday, January 31 (featuring Anna Cainelli, Bell Towers, David Fogarty, GTI, Luca Carluccio, Nikity, Okouru, Richii, Savsannah and Sedaction).
It will be business as usual with one exception: the green floor will remain closed while under renovation. Therefore, all parties will be hosted on their red, black and top secret floors until it’s back in action. They have promised the same venue and the same good time, with tickets to their opening parties available online at Resident Advisor.
