Berlin policeman banned from Tiktok and Youtube after chat with clan boss
Officer Denny is a friendly Berlin policeman who takes to social media to explain police life to young people – but it seems his affable nature has landed him in trouble. Last year, he appeared in a video with clan boss Arafat Abou-Chaker, chatting on friendly terms with the controversial figure. At one point in the video, Abou-Chaker himself seemed surprised to be talking with the policeman, asking: “Aren’t you going to get in trouble?” to which Officer Denny replied “It’s not forbidden. I’m a normal private person,” adding, “you don’t even have a criminal record.”
However, it seems that Officer Denny overestimated the leniency of the Berlin police, as a court has now upheld a ban on him using his social media channels to talk about police life. He has been ordered to delete the relevant video, but has yet to do so, and has instead lodged a complaint with a higher court in an attempt to appeal the verdict.
