Parade of the heavens: Six planets to align over Berlin’s night sky

Stargazers in Berlin will be treated to a rare spectacle on Tuesday night as six planets—Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, Venus, and Saturn—will align in a celestial “parade” across a small section of the sky.

The event can be enjoyed without special equipment. Four of the planets—Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn—are visible to the naked eye. Uranus and Neptune are dimmer but can be seen with a telescope.

The planets will appear in the southeastern sky. Each one has distinct characteristics to help identify it. Mars will have a reddish hue, Jupiter will be bright and positioned higher in the sky within the constellation Taurus, and Saturn will appear yellow. Venus and Saturn can both be found in the constellation Aquarius, while Uranus lies in Aries and Neptune in Pisces.
