Nazi messages in the Charlottenburg youth fire department

What are the teenagers talking about in Charlottenburg? According to recent reports, it is not very pretty. Junior members of the Berlin Fire Department have come under scrutiny after an internal investigation revealed extremist material circulating among them. The findings include Nazi slogans, images of Adolf Hitler, dehumanising remarks – and repeated use of the N-word.

The Berlin Youth Fire Department is among the city’s largest youth organisations, with more than 1,000 members aged between 8 and 19. The current allegations, however, concern a unit based in Charlottenburg. Authorities were alerted after a parent raised concerns.

A spokesperson for the organisation confirmed: “We can verify that right-wing extremist content was shared in a chat group, along with instances of bullying.” They added: “The allegations and the secured materials are currently being thoroughly reviewed by the Extremism Officer and the Human Resources department.”
