Massive damage after explosion at Neukölln café
A huge explosion in the early hours of Tuesday morning outside a café on Schierker Straße in Neukölln sent debris flying into the road, shattered the shop window, and set fire to the entrance. Witnesses reportedly heard a loud bang before a 24-year-old employee of the café tackled the flames with a fire extinguisher. Fortunately, no one was injured.
According to police, debris from the explosion also damaged a motorbike belonging to a 61-year-old man, as well as a car parked in front of the premises. Specialist officers from the Department for Explosives began examining the crime scene later on Tuesday morning.
