Man shot dead in Spandau, suspect escapes
At around 12pm on Tuesday afternoon, a 40-year old man was shot dead on a quiet street in Gatow, in the south-western district of Spandau.
A background or motive for the crime are not yet known
Several witnesses reported the crime, and police officers and emergency services quickly rushed to the scene. Helicopters were used to search the area, but according to a police spokesperson, the hunt is still ongoing.
Shortly after police arrived at the crime scene, local schools and kindergartens were warned that an armed and potentially dangerous figure was travelling in the area. It is still unclear whether the suspect is a man or woman, and a background or motive for the crime are not yet known.

Sightings of an armed man wearing a balaclava were reported in Breitehornweg and the surrounding area of Waldschluchtpfad, but this hasn’t yet been confirmed by authorities. While more information about the suspect hasn’t been released, a later announcement from police informed the public that the situation was now under control.
