Oranienstraße named one of the world’s 30 coolest streets
According to the official roundup released by TimeOut, Kreuzberg’s Oranienstraße has made it onto the list of the world’s 30 coolest streets.
Coming in at twelfth place, Oranienstraße guaranteed its spot on the coveted list with its mix of eclectic second-hand shops for daytime adventures, as well as mega-cool bars and clubs for midnight revellers.
The entry made special mention of the “gritty and ever-so-trendy” Café Luzia and beloved queer party spot SO36. Shopping at vintage treasure trove Kleiderei, wandering through the urban community garden Nachbarschaftsgarten on Moritzplatz, and (of course) grabbing a Späti beer and simply doing some great people-watching were a few of the recommended activities.
Oranienstraße is in good company on TimeOut’s 2024 roundup, alongside Cape Town’s Bree Street and Fifth Avenue, Park Slope in New York. Melbourne’s High Street took first place.
