YAAM employee dies after altercation outside club: Police search for witnesses
A 31-year-old man, who was employed at the popular Friedrichshain club YAAM, has just died following a physical altercation last week with two other staff members outside the club on An der Schillingbrücke.
This is what we know so far: In the evening on Friday 12, April, an argument broke out between a 42-year-old YAAM employee and his 31-year-old colleague. Witnesses apparently alerted another club employee, a 61-year-old male, who then, according to police, intervened in the fight and may have physically assaulted the 31-year-old.
As a result, the 31-year-old collapsed and had to be resuscitated by emergency services at the scene. The 42-year-old man initially fled the scene, but was arrested along with his 61-year-old colleague soon after. Both men were taken into police custody for identification and were later released.
Now, one week later, police have just reported that the 31-year-old has died in hospital, and authorities are actively searching for witnesses. Investigators are asking any potential witnesses who may have been outside the An der Schillingbrücke club on Friday night, to contact the State Criminal Police 1st Homicide Squad at (030) 4664 – 911111, by email, or directly at your local police station.
