Today and tomorrow, police are undergoing training and education practices in Grunewald. Several detonations are planned, which will sound beyond the boundaries of the bombing site. Residents, walkers and dog owners should be prepared to hear regular loud explosions coming from the forest but feel rest assured that it’s no cause for concern.

At the blasting site, Berlin police will be detonating seized pyrotechnics. They did the same in November 2025, and according to a police spokesman, the explosion could be heard in Nikolassee. These detonations have led to fires and large fire brigade operations in the past.

However, there is no danger to anyone today or tomorrow, but the noises might spook pets. There will be no road or path closures near or in the forest. Further detonations should be expected for the second week of March.
