Eating pudding with a fork: TikTok trend hits Berlin
Last weekend, hundreds of young people gathered in James-Simon-Park in Mitte to take part in Germany’s latest Tiktok trend. This time, eating pudding with a fork.
The phenomenon seems to have begun in Karlsruhe last August, when a flyer appeared in the town square inviting people to a “we-eat-pudding-with-a-fork meeting” and instructing attendees to “please bring your own pudding and a fork.”
From there, it somehow made its way onto meme pages, and the idea spread across the country, making an impact on the national psyche unseen since Martin Luther’s 95 theses. By 24 September, the Instagram channel Funk was reporting on meeting points for people to eat pudding with a fork across Germany, with the trend finally reaching the capital last weekend.
