Drive-by shooting at midnight in Schillerkiez

The attractive neighbourhood of Schillerkiez was the site of a violent attack yesterday, as in-fighting between gangs seems to have spilled out onto the streets of Neukölln. The incident, which took place near Herrfurthplatz on Tuesday a few minutes before midnight, saw two men targeted by unknown assailants from a moving car. One of the victims was shot in the leg, while the condition of the second man remains unclear.

After the shooting, the two men took refuge in a bar where they were treated by the emergency doctors and paramedics who quickly arrived at the scene. Only the man with the leg injury required hospital treatment.

Police later found the getaway car, which had been set on fire and abandoned a few kilometres south. Apparently, this is a common technique among the so-called “Clan-Milleu”, having followed similar attacks, burglaries and robberies.

According to reporting in the Tagesspiegel, one of the victims belongs to a well-known “clan” family and there are fears of further attacks and reprisals.
