A Christmas miracle! Renate will stay open in 2026

The Friedrichshain club was preparing to shut its doors in January after a final 86-hour-long New Year’s Eve party, but Renate has secured their lease for the long term.

The wild days of Wilde Renate looked like they were over, but last night, the club’s owners announced that they will continue for a long time yet. They announced this on their Instagram and provided a full statement on their website.

Clubgoers had plenty of warning of the closure that will no longer take place. The venue on Stralauer Allee announced back in August 2024 that the club would shut its doors at the end of this year because the lease would not be extended.

Their recent statement explains that this original press release was made during “an emotionally very charged situation” and that attributions to the owner were “one-sided and not differentiated”, for which they have now apologised.

The lease has now been extended, the club will be structurally reoriented and the owner has stressed that Renate is secured for a long-term future. But they also stated that they need “certain lead time to re-set up our booking, the organisational processes and our team.”

Due to the agreement being made so late in the year, Renate will remain temporarily closed after their New Year’s Eve party. But their statement promises, “As soon as it is foreseeable when we will reopen, we will communicate this publicly.”
