Today, BVG announced its annual timetable change and informed that from this Sunday, they will provide new announcements to aid people who are visually and mobility impaired. For example, tram messages will tell disembarking passengers if the exit occurs on a main road or if there is a difference in altitude between the tram and the road.
They will also be extending the length of the buses on the 147 line, the number of carriages on the U3 and the number of the carriages on the M5 tramline. BVG has also promised to increase the visibility of their signs during construction work, including those of replacement bus services, to provide passengers with easier access to their transport options and allow them to plan their routes easier.
After officially announcing their timetable changes today (which have been known for some months), BVG also mentioned the opening of the Dresden railway for regional and long-distance trains. This route will aid connections between Berlin and Brandenberg, with trains running every 15 minutes between Berlin Hbf and BER Airport. This new route will shorten the travel time, making BER only 23 minutes away.
