Knud Bielefeld published the annual ranking of popular baby names on Monday. The so-called name expert revealed that Hannah and Noah were the most common names for girls and boys in Berlin and Brandenburg in 2025.
Since 2018, Mohammed has topped the boys’ name charts every year with one exception. In 2021, the current leader, Noah, also won the race. Mohammed is now in sixth place. For the girls’ names, Hannah defended its current title from 2024.
This year, Emilia and Matteo followed in second place, and experts claim that the names Ada, Ava, Lovis and Otis are much more common in Berlin than elsewhere.
