Several dogs have been injured, one killed and many of their owners bitten – all by a single fox. The Reinickendorf District Office put out an official warning yesterday regarding a particularly aggressive fox on the loose around Brusebergstrasse/Klamannstrasse in northern Berlin.
The animal has been posing a threat to the neighbourhood’s dogs since the end of January, with the most recent attack reported last weekend. Sebastian Pieper, Reinickendorf district councilor and member of the christian-democratic CDU party, stated that “According to current information, [the series of attacks] involves a single animal that is not representative of the fox population in the city.” He informed that the district office is planning an information event for the area’s residents.
Anyone who spots the aggressive fox is asked to report it to the police or Ordnungsamt. Residents are also reminded to keep their dogs leashed at all times and not to feed wild animals.
