We want you to enter into our “Poem of the Month” competition. Once a month, we choose a poem sent by you to be featured in our Literature section of The Berliner magazine. We also post it on our Instagram and in our weekly Newsletter, as well as featuring it on The Berliner website. Read below for our submission guidelines.
Submission Guidelines
- Send your poetry submission to our Literature Editor, Ceri Savage, at [email protected]
- Submit poems in a single PDF, World Doc or pasted into the email body.
- Maximum 40 lines per poem.
- Use the subject line: POETRY SUBMISSION.
- Submit a maximum of three poems per submission. Please wait until you have received a decision on your current submission before sending another.
- Only send unpublished work.
- Simultaneous submissions are welcome. If your poem is accepted elsewhere, please withdraw it by email immediately.
- AI-assisted or AI-generated work is not accepted.
- Include a cover note stating the titles of the poems, your name, email and a brief author bio.
- The poem can be about anything, not just Berlin.
- We ask for English language poetry but happily accept translations.

By accepting publication, authors grant The Berliner the non-exclusive right to publish their work in the magazine (print and digital), on our website, in our newsletter, and on our social media channels for promotional purposes. We also reserve the right to include accepted work in future The Berliner anthologies or collections. All other rights remain with the author.
