Robert Dahl, founder of Karls Erlebnis-Dörfer theme park and owner of the Karls strawberry empire, plans to ride his new rollercoaster for 24 hours on October 16. The event is an attempt to promote the roller coaster’s opening and to raise money for the ‘Karls for All – Robert Dahl Foundation’, which is dedicated to promoting inclusion in amusement parks.

For the grand opening of the Betty’s Beerchen Boomerang rollercoaster, Dahl is inviting nine influencers to join him in the remaining nine carriages. He hopes to leverage the reach of these online creators to attract more people to the event. Each of the ten carriages will also have a free seat, available to the public for donations of five, fifty, or one thousand euros.

The response has already been huge: “An unbelievable number of people have contacted us,” says Dahl. These include people interested in the influencer spots as well as those wanting to buy a slot on the ride. No one has been confirmed yet. Anyone who wants to participate can apply by email at [email protected].

A four-minute ride with ten seats, that would be 150 potential sponsored rides per hour. Over 24 hours, that’s a total of 3,600 seats. “Let’s say we sell them all out and take in an average of ten euros each, that would be 36,000 euros.” Dahl’s conclusion: “I think anything between 10,000 and 60,000 euros is possible.”

The money raised from the roller coaster will benefit people with physical or financial disabilities, as well as Dahl’s own empire: It will help make Karls Adventure Villages accessible to everyone, with barrier-free paths, entrances and restrooms, rides that everyone can use, vacation homes for families with disabled members, and support for people who otherwise couldn’t afford an amusement park.
