On Tuesday, police announced that an incendiary device was thrown at a refugee shelter in Berlin. A resident of the facility in the Hellersdorf district noticed flames on the building’s facade late on Monday evening. Security personnel extinguished the fire and alerted the police. No one was injured, and the fire didn’t spread to the building’s structure or into the building.
Police stated that, “According to current findings, a burning object was thrown against the building’s facade.” The motive for the attack requires further inquiry, therefore the relevant authority responsible for politically motivated crimes has taken over the investigation.
