Berlin’s most Instagramable backdrops for your next influencer shoot

If you live in Berlin, but don't regularly do Instagrammable photo-shoots across the city, do you really live in Berlin? Avoid the oh-so basic East Side Gallery and Museum Island selfies. Here's the ultimate round-up of Berlin's best photo-backdrops.

It’s more than just a giant tent made of concrete, but also an excellent, bold backdrop for a photo shoot. While the base of the structure’s sloping roof is easier to climb onto than you’d think, we’d recommend a sensible choice of shoes.

You’re bound to get some seriously cinematic shots in front of this 1920s kino facade. The iconic red neon signage and classically art deco architecture will make you feel like you’re in Weimar Berlin (with your smartphone still in hand of course).

DDR Museum

The DDR Museum is so much more than an immersive historical learning environment. It’s also a cute and quirky setting for a vintage-lovers’ photo shoot. Get that polaroid camera ready and just try to avoid the crowds.

Visit one of Berlin’s much-loved Fotoautomaten for your charming little photostrip (you’ll pay about €3 or €4 in coins for a strip of 4 little black and white photos). But these old-schools booths are also a fun setting for an Instagram shoot. Perfectly grungy and cool, just do your best to ignore the smell of piss.

Schloss Charlottenburg

Berlin has plenty of grungy graffiti-ridden settings for photoshoots, but if you’re looking for something a little more classically old-European, Schloss Charlottenburg may be just the spot. The palace’s classical facade and manicured gardens are the ideal location for your next Bridgerton-themed glamour shoot.

The Sixties Diner

At the Sixties Diner in Mitte, you can enjoy all the photogenic fun of 1960s America without any of the nasty assassinations, race riots or MKUltra illegal human experimentation. Pop over to this atmospheric little diner, which is decorated with kitschy pop art, retro pieces and all the neon signs you could imagine.

The Oberbaumbrücke doesn’t just connect Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain, it could also connect you with your next few hundred followers. Find the perfect spot to pose between the striking redbrick arches and dealers.
