
New information has emerged about the victim following the attack at the Christopher Street (CSD) Day parade on Saturday. She is believed to be from Poland and was with her family in Tiergarten at the time of the attack.
Speaking at the opening of an exhibition on the 1944 Warsaw Uprising at the Red City Hall on Monday, Berlin’s Governing Mayor Kai Wegner (CDU) said that the woman had been in Berlin with her daughter. “I am deeply moved by what happened on Saturday, and my thoughts are with you and, above all, with the daughter, the family of the murdered woman.”
According to investigators, the woman’s family witnessed the attack. They are currently receiving psychological support. The woman and her family were apparently not participating in the CSD celebrations. Police have not released the age of the victim.
