Time to buff up those winter stilettos and break out the vintage bling. it’s fashion week again, and we’ve got you covered.
The Autumn/Winter edition of Fashion Week runs from January 18-21, and although many of the main trade shows and the official Mercedes-Benz productions are intended for trade professionals only, Exberliner readers are nothing if not intrepid: accreditation for the main urban trade shows, Premium (Jan 18-20, Station-Berlin, Luckenwalder Str. 4-6, Kreuzberg) and Bread & Butter (Jan 18-20, Tempelhof Airport), is not impossible if you are creative and assertive. (Tip: blag being a blogger and you’re on your way).
Once you have had your fill of jeans and trainers at Bread and Butter, pop down the street to Exberliner’s vintage fashion fair Toast & Jam (Jan 19-21, C-Club, Columbiadamm 9, Tempelhof), which is the jewel in the trade show crown this season and the first vintage fair of its kind the city has ever seen. Organised in cooperation with the savvy folks of Nowkoelln Flowmarkt and assisted by skillful hands from Berlin’s best fashion schools ESMOD and Weißensee Kunsthochschule, Toast & Jam brings you young, dolled-up vintage models treading the catwalk to retro tunes and a decadent closing party with swanky dudes and burlesque babes. Paying homage to trends that have stood the test of time, there will be a market of vintage gems and shows to get you in the Fashion Week spirit.
Open to all, the GREENshowroom in the extravagant foyer of the Hotel Adlon (Jan 18-20, Unter den Linden 77, Mitte) is the best place to get your fix of eco-luxe clothing trends for next year.
Those of you after style with a conscience will also love the Ethical Fashion Show (Jan 18-20, E-werk, Wilhelmstr. 43, Mitte), in conjunction with fashion school ESMOD.
And we are thrilled that our favourite trade show from last season, Capsule (Jan 19-20, Alte Münze, Am Krögel 2, Mitte) is making its way back over the Atlantic, bringing us the best of edgy labels that are big in the US, such as Wood Wood, Big John and Riviera Club, so head on down. We’ll see you there!
