When artist and photographer Lotte Agger passed by a disused shop front on Hasenheide, she was instantly struck with inspiration: this was the perfect place for a gallery. The brand new 90-square-metre art space, which merges photography and installation art, was conceived as a platform for emerging young artists with a focus on FLINTA* creators. Case in point: their current exhibition, ‘Naked Solidarity’, which showcases feminist nude photography that’s not only visually striking but also serves a higher purpose.

The exhibition stems from a longstanding project of the same name, curated by Mascha Leskien, which produces annual nude calendars celebrating the diversity, self-determination and strength of FLINTA* individuals. Proceeds are donated to NGOs supporting FLINTA* initiatives, with this year’s beneficiaries being Paula Panke e.V. and Unterschlupf e.V.

Standing out among Berlin’s 440 art galleries is no easy feat, but NOW GALLERY carves its niche by combining bold artistry with meaningful activism. Stop by, pick up a calendar, and immerse yourself in a space where art and advocacy beautifully converge.
