DISCUSSION I Will Not Abandon You: Queer Women in Nazi Germany details lesbian life under the Nazi regime, its flourishing underground scene, the Nazi attempts to eliminate queerness and the suffering of those who fell victim to it. Its author, Samuel Clowes Huneke, award-winning historian and associate professor at George Mason University, will be in conversation with Alexander Wells to discuss this oft-overlooked queer history.

Parallel/Play — Word/Play
PERFORMANCE Word/Play is a special edition of Parallel/Play that brings together a wordsmith, an artist and a musician. They’ve met beforehand to develop something that unites the three of them. A second trio, who haven’t met and who have no plan, will listen and respond in real time. The last stage of the event invites anyone in the room to join in with a voice, an instrument or a phrase. It’s creativity at its rawest – spontaneous and playful.

BOOK LAUNCH Dženana Vucic is the author of after war, a collection of poems exploring the aftermath of the Bosnian war. Genocide and the violence, displacement and trauma it entails are the underlying themes of the works, which touch upon the questions of (un)belonging and remembrance. Apart from select readings by the author, there will also be a discussion moderated by Alexander Wells.
